Felix Lovell

Felix Lovell is an emerging writer and director based in Meanjin / Brisbane, Australia. In 2019, Felix made his directorial debut with his short film, Malingee and has since directed a number of shorts, music videos & commercials with both domestic and international acclaim. Blurring the lines of genre, his work often employs elements of surrealism, magic realism and horror, influenced by the likes of David Lynch, Yorgos Lanthimos and Apichatpong Weerasethakul. A graduate of Film and Screen Media Production at Griffith Film School, during his studies, Felix co-founded the hybrid art gallery, Misplaced Curiosities. The funds of 2023’s gallery went to supporting Felix’s short, The Scatterer which premiered at SXSW Sydney 2024. Alongside his directorial work Felix is an avid photographer, frequently working with analogue mediums.
